Summary: During the week of Feb 1 - 9 I was in the Lake Tahoe area for a variety of reasons, including a small consulting job, visiting some friends and skiing. During the week I was privileged to be a guest of the Thunderbird Lodge right on the Lake. These are some photos of this amazing historic lodge - exterior and grounds, interior, and the views. The caretakers cabin. This is where I stayed. Great views across the Lake and I had it to myself! The winding road down to the lodge. The building in the left photo was originally where the pet elephants were kept. The lodge and grounds. The interior, and a sample of the view across the lake to the California Sierra and Squaw Valley ski area.
