In the spring of 2001 I offered a club outing through the OSU Mountain Club as a beginners backcountry ski tour and possible winter climb. This was the first time I met Kerry, and along with her a friend Dale (Oceanography employee) and Rhiannon (a student) came along. Dale and I camped in a Megamid and Rhiannon and Kerry camped in a tent. The second day we climbed Lakeview Peak. This was the first time on telemark style skis for all three. However, Dale does snowboard and Rhiannon had some past downhill skiing background.
